Craftcation

  • The Beyond Red White and Blue flag garland lines a wooden fence leading to the Ventura beach. Palm trees reach for the sky behind the fence while small sunflowers bloom below.
  • a pop-up workspace and quilt show hosted by piecemovement in my hotel room at CRAFTCATION 2019. My bed is covered with fabric pieces for guests to use to make flags. Quilts are draped throughout the room and the Beyond Red White and Blue garland hangs across the ceiling.
  • Amber Waves of Welcome, a quilt made from silk, vintage and modern prints and bound with wool suit material lays on the beach like a welcome mat in front of a makeshift tipi made from see reeds.
  • Shiny silver glitter boots found at the local thrift store a sign made at one the the Craftcation evening events that reads: Glitter is Always an Option. Behind it all stands my green backdrop with white polkadot and rainbow lower half. A Beyond Red White and Blue flag sample made with khaki brown and a smaller red rectangle hangs like a necklace from yellow cord with range and bright yellow tassels made of small strips of cloth.
  • Beyond Red White and Blue flag garland swings below State Parks sign on blue life guard station on Ventura Beach. The sun shines on the water in the background and makes lots patterns with light and shadow on the well travelled sand.
  • A close up shot of the machine quilting work on the quilt Why Oh Why Can't I? The quilt was a door prize won by Adrian Hern.
Making all the things. Especially new friends.
